Our Recruitment Process
Our recruitment process is designed to be open, engaging, and focused on what really matters - finding people who share our values and want to make a difference.
When we meet candidates, we’re not just looking at competencies and skills; we want to understand who they are, what drives them, and how they align with our commitment to putting residents first.
-
From the moment I walked in everyone was so friendly and accommodating, you couldn’t have done more to make us feel comfortable and valued. Whilst visiting all the different departments, and speaking with several colleagues, what really stood out to me was how much people cared about their individual roles and your values as a whole.
New Colleague
Colleague Voices
At SettleParadigm, we know that our people are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that what makes working here different is our commitment to be a place where people love to work, where everyone can belong, and where professionalism and passion shine through in everything we do. Just as we put residents first, we ensure that our colleagues feel heard, valued, and respected. That’s why we have a number of colleague forums dedicated to wellbeing, diversity, and inclusion, as well as a space where everyone has a voice in key business decisions. We know that every colleague brings something unique, and we are committed to fostering a workplace where individuality is celebrated, and everyone can be their best.
An inclusive employer
As an employer of over 1,000 people, we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace and community where everyone is respected, valued, and welcome. We promote fairness and ensure no discrimination based on age, disability, gender, race, religion, or other protected characteristics.
We pursue fairness to ensure that no one is treated less favourably because of who they are. We challenge discrimination and remove barriers, so everyone has equal access to our services and equal opportunities to succeed.
We recognise, respect and celebrate each other’s differences because they make us stronger. We know diversity of thought and experience helps us better reflect, understand and serve the communities in which we work.
We create an environment where everyone feels welcome and free to be their true selves. We want all colleagues to feel a sense of belonging at SettleParadigm, to know they have a voice and to contribute with confidence.
Why I chose social housing
-
Up until joining SettleParadigm, I have mainly worked for private sector construction and development companies and in my next role I was looking for both a change in industry and in type of organisation, but where my skills would be transferable. Social Housing met these aspirations. It is also good to know that as a charitable organisation, any financial gains are reinvested into maintaining, upgrading, or building new houses for people, especially with the shortage of affordable housing within the country.

Involving residents
We believe that being part of the community means truly getting involved and making a difference. That’s why we take the time to connect with residents where they are, through initiatives like our Big Door Knocks and Neighbourhood Action Weeks, where we listen, learn, and take action to improve local areas together.
Our commitment to giving back to our local community
We know that small changes can have a big impact, and every colleague plays a part in this. That’s why each year, every colleague gets three Giving Something Back days to volunteer and support local projects, whether it’s improving outdoor spaces, helping community groups, or providing practical support to those who need it most. Because for us, community isn’t just where we work - it’s who we are.
Apprenticeship and Graduate Programmes
Apprenticeships and graduate schemes offer a great opportunity to join SettleParadigm. We are not currently accepting applications for apprenticeships and graduate programmes, but please keep an eye on our careers page for future opportunities.

Over a year into my apprenticeship and I have gained so much knowledge of the housing sector and a clearer understanding of where I would like to be when I complete my apprenticeship later this year.

Being an apprentice has been an incredible experience that has completely transformed my life. From day one, I’ve been immersed in a world of hands-on learning and endless possibilities. It’s not like your typical classroom setting—here, I get to roll up my sleeves and dive right into the action. What makes apprenticeship so amazing is the chance to work alongside experienced professionals who are eager to share their knowledge. They’ve become more than just mentors, they’re like family. They’ve shown me the ropes, taught me valuable skills, and boosted my confidence every step of the way.
