Salary: £43,665 (FTE Salary)+ Excellent Benefits (Part-Time salary for 25.5 hours per week is Circa: £30,107).
Base Location: Goldings House (Hatfield) and Lea Bridge House (Walthamstow).
Mobile Role: This is a mobile role where you'll travel between Goldings House in Hatfield and Lea Bridge House in Walthamstow, due to the travel involved in this role the successful applicant must own a car and business insurance to enable you to travel between both sites.
Contract: 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
Part-Time: 25.5 hours per week (Flexible on work patten)

We’re now looking for a skilled and reliable Static Building Maintenance Engineer to support the day‑to‑day upkeep and safety of Lea Bridge House and Goldings House.
About the Role/team
This is a hands‑on, varied and highly valued role where you’ll be responsible for delivering a responsive and efficient repairs and maintenance service across both buildings. You’ll carry out routine repairs, void works, compliance checks and health and safety inspections, ensuring our buildings remain safe, compliant and comfortable for residents.
You’ll work closely with colleagues, contractors and tenants, providing a friendly and professional service while ensuring all work is completed to a high standard. You’ll also support out‑of‑hours emergency repairs when required.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem‑solving and wants to make a meaningful difference to residents’ living environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out routine repairs and maintenance across communal areas and tenanted properties
Complete void works including repairs, maintenance and installation of furniture to ensure properties are ready to re‑let
Conduct daily building checks and support scheduled health and safety inspections including PAT testing, fire door checks and fire alarm testing
Carry out water hygiene tasks including descaling, temperature checks and flushing
Order and manage materials, keeping accurate records of work completed, materials used and expenses
Remove waste and debris after works and ensure areas are left clean and tidy
Arrange appointments with tenants to complete repairs and maintenance
Identify works beyond routine repairs and escalate to surveyors for scoping
Support and oversee investment and larger‑scale works
Assist with out‑of‑hours emergency repairs when required
Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety policies, including managing risks when working in occupied homes
What We’re Looking For
Must haves:

Nice to haves:
Professional qualification in one or more building trades
Experience carrying out a wide range of repairs including plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrics and flooring
Experience in building services maintenance
Experience completing compliance checks including fire safety, PAT testing and water hygiene
Physically capable of moving equipment and furniture
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
Strong communication skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of people
Sound judgement and decision‑making skills
Good understanding of health and safety practices and legislation
Ability to plan and manage your own workload
Basic PC skills
